JOB TITLE: Transportation Mechanic I: Fuel Truck Operator and Bus Driver

REPORTS TO:  Director of Transportation

SALARY:  Based on State and Local Salary Schedule

STATUS:  12 months

SUMMARY:  The job of Transportation Fuel Truck Operator, Bus Driver, & Tire Mechanic was established to perform complex duties in the operation, repair, and maintenance of the vehicles in the school transportation program.  Most work is performed based on prior experience.  The employee is expected to resolve problems of medium difficulty with little assistance while others may be referred to a supervisor.  Most errors may be expected to be resolved by the employee.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, pull a large hose, sit, talk, and listen.  The employee is occasionally required to use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds or more at times.
